Out & About

In close by Bermondsey Square there is an arthouse cinema and outdoor table tennis. An antique market is held in the Square every Friday morning. There is also a Boris Bike stand where you can hire bikes to get around London. The White Cube gallery is a 5minute walk up Bermondsey Street.

There are Michelin star restaurants in Bermondsey Street and a street festival in September. The Shard is just off Bermonsdey Street where you can see the views of London and dine at the same time.

Tower Bridge has an exhibition and glass floored viewing platforms/walkways (if you do not suffer wiuth vertigo) and the Tower of London is north of Tower Bridge.

Shad Thames has more great riverside restaurants, a Design Museum and cobbled streets to meander along.

Maltby Street market is on the way to Shad Thames and good for a Saturday morning wander, offering non-pesticide wines, antique shops & coffee houses.

St Katherine's Dock is on the other side of the river where you can stroll along the main cobbled street to Wapping, which has one of the oldest reiverside pub in London dating back to 1520 and was a notorious haunt for smugglers & pirates back in the day.

 

Green spaces are nearby being either Spa Park or Southward Park (which you can stroll back home via the Thames).

 

The Jubille line tube takes you to Greenwich Park/)O2.
